Warning! Jacking up a vehicle or placing it on jack stands is dangerous. Therefore, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the safety precautions set out in Chapter "Jacking up a car".
1. Place the car on jack stands.
2. Stick adhesive tape 1 to the center of the rear tire tread (see illustration). The edge of the tape will serve as a starting point for taking the measurement.

Note: You don't have to glue the tape if you can use the groove in the center of the tire tread as a starting point.
3. Place a ruler or folding tape measure 2 on the tire, resting the end of the ruler on the wheel arch protection (fender liner), and measure the distance to the edge of the adhesive tape.
4. Take hold of the wheel disk and move the wheel from side to side across the direction of travel. A play of 1 mm is allowed. The wheel must be moved with a force of at least 100 N or 10 cr. If the play is greater than specified, the longitudinal arm support must be replaced. The work is performed in a workshop.
5. Remove the tape from the tire.
6. Take the measurement on the opposite side.
7. Lower the car onto its wheels.
