Removing
1. Set wheels to straight ahead.
2. Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative pole of the battery «masses» (-), by turning off the ignition first.
Attention! When the battery is disconnected from the radio, the security code is deleted, as well as all automatic settings on the radio. If the code is unknown or not written down, the only way to put the radio into operation is with the assistance of a workshop or the manufacturer of the radio. Therefore, first make sure that the code is known.
Attention! Observe the precautions for working on the airbags.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. Unscrew the bolts 1 fastening the contact coil so that the coil can be removed. Vehicle wheels must be aligned and must be straight (see illustration).
Attention! The contact coil bolts must not be completely unscrewed. In this case, the spiral is unwound and it will have to be installed already in the workshop.
5. Carefully take a spiral from a steering column. The plug connection to the steering column switches is disconnected automatically.
6. Unscrew the three bolts 1 fastening and disconnect the steering column switches from the steering column (see illustration). The plug connection to the steering column switches is disconnected automatically.
Installation
7. Make sure the vehicle's wheels are aligned and in the straight ahead position.
8. Connect the steering column switches and connect the plugs.
9. Fix the steering column switch with three bolts 1 (see illustration 30.6).
Attention! A short bolt is screwed in on the right side near the lock 2 of the steering column. Otherwise the lock will be damaged (see illustration 30.6).
10. Install the contact spiral on the steering shaft near the plug connection and fix the plug.
11. Tighten the two mounting bolts. In this case, reference marks (see arrows in illustration) should be facing each other.
12. Reinstall the steering wheel, observing the precautions related to working with airbags.
13. Connect the ground wire terminal (-) to the battery, after making sure that the ignition is turned off.
14. Set up the digital clock.
15. Enter the security code into the radio.
