Contents: Removal ↡ Installation ↡
Cars with gasoline engines.

Removal

1. Lower the engine on the front axle beam, see the relevant chapter.

2. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor and secure it to the body with wire, without disconnecting the refrigerant circulation hoses from the compressor, see the relevant chapter.

3. Remove the generator, see the relevant chapter.

4. Unscrew the six bolts of the V-belt tensioner mounting bracket and remove it.

5. Unscrew the bolts securing the engine mount to the oil pan bracket.

6. Unscrew the oil pan bolts and remove it. If necessary, knock it off with a rubber mallet.

Installation

7. Apply a sealant such as Loctite 5900 in a 2.0 +/- 0.5 mm layer. The sealant layer should go around the mounting bolt holes on the inside and around the corner holes from the engine mount bracket. An additional layer of sealant should be applied on the gearbox side.

8. Install the oil pan 10 minutes after applying the sealant, screw in and tighten the mounting bolts.

9. Install the V-belt tensioner mounting bracket and secure it with bolts without tightening them completely.

10. Install the generator, ensuring that it fits snugly against the mounting surface.

11. Tighten the three upper V-belt tensioner bracket mounting bolts first, then the bolt near the idler pulley, and then both lower bolts.

Tightening torques for threaded connections:
  • oil pan to cylinder block and timing cover - 14 Nm
  • engine mount bracket to oil pan - 20 Nm
  • engine mount bracket support - 55 Nm
  • v-belt tensioner bracket - 20 Nm
