Note. Before starting the procedure, please read precautions.
1. When identifying signs of a malfunction in the fuel injection system, first of all check the reliability of tightening all the union connections of the power system path. Make sure that the cause of the violation is not an elementary neglect to perform regular maintenance procedures - check the condition of the air cleaner and fuel filter, measure the valve clearances, compression pressure in the cylinders, etc. Make sure the crankcase ventilation hoses are open.
2. If, after carrying out the above checks, it is not possible to identify the cause of the violation, drive the car to the service station for more detailed diagnostics - at the bottom of the dashboard on the driver's side there is a DLC diagnostic connector for connecting a special scanner, through which fault codes are read (DTC), detected by the on-board self-diagnosis system and stored in the memory of the control module processor.
Note. Alternatively, reading DTCs can be done using a personal computer equipped with a special board with installed software - a special cable is used to connect the computer to the DLC connector. By reading the codes, the operator can easily identify even hidden failures.
Attention! Remember that any non-professional intervention in the engine management system device is associated with the risk of irreversible failure of electronic components!
3. Engine idle speed can be measured using a special tachometer designed for use on diesel engines, however, this parameter cannot be adjusted. The reason for the deviation of the idle speed from the set value may be a malfunction of the injectors, which in this situation must be cleaned and calibrated. The service life of the injectors is unlimited, however, if the vehicle mileage exceeds 100,000 km, the probability of their failures increases - the procedures for reconditioning and calibrating the injectors should be entrusted to car service specialists.
