Note: Before you begin the procedure, please read the precautionary measures.
1. If you detect signs of malfunction of the fuel injection system, first of all check the reliability of tightening of all nipple connections of the fuel system tract. Make sure that the cause of the malfunction is not elementary neglect of the implementation of regular maintenance procedures - check the condition of the air cleaner and fuel filter, measure the working clearances of the valves, compression pressure in the cylinders, etc. Make sure that the crankcase ventilation system hoses are passable.
2. If after carrying out the above checks it is not possible to identify the cause of the malfunction, take the car to a service station for a more detailed diagnosis - in the lower part of the dashboard on the driver's side there is a diagnostic connector DLC for connecting a special scanner, by means of which the fault codes (DTC) detected by the on-board self-diagnosis system and stored in the memory of the control module processor are read.
Note: Alternatively, DTC codes can be read using a personal computer equipped with a special board with installed software - a special cable is used to connect the computer to the DLC connector. By reading the codes, the operator can easily identify even hidden failures.
Attention! Remember that any unprofessional intervention in the engine management system is associated with the risk of irreversible failure of electronic components!
3. The engine idle speed can be measured using a special tachometer designed for use on diesel engines, but it is not possible to adjust this parameter. The reason for the deviation of the idle speed from the set value may be a malfunction of the injectors, which in this situation must be cleaned and calibrated. The service life of the injectors is unlimited, but when the car mileage exceeds 100,000 km, the probability of their failure increases - the performance of restorative repair and calibration procedures for the injectors should be entrusted to car service specialists.
