Caution! Activation of the air-filled steering pump is not permitted under any circumstances!
1. Illustrative material on the procedures for filling and bleeding the power steering pump is presented in the illustration, to which all references in the text refer.
Removal the cover from the steering pump
2. Remove the cover and fill the steering pump reservoir (30a) to a level approximately 10 mm below the top edge - if necessary, move the air hose (47) to one side.
3. Start the engine for 2-3 minutes and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times - the air from the hydraulic circuit of the power steering should be removed automatically.
4. Check the fluid level in the power steering reservoir and make the appropriate adjustments if necessary (see Chapter Checking fluid levels, leak control).
5. Check for signs of developing hydraulic fluid leaks in the power steering system.
6. Put the cover back in place, if it was moved, put the air hose back in place (47)
