1. Turn on the auxiliary battery and connect it to the standard battery, then disconnect the negative cable from the latter.

2. Remove the central cover (console) sections of the instrument panel (see Chapter Body).

3. The HVAC control panel (N₂2) simply snaps into the cover clips and is pulled out to remove.

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - make sure that the panel fasteners are securely snapped into place.

Note: After replacing the HVAC control panel, it is necessary to perform the servo motor synchronization procedure using the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic scanner connected to the vehicle's DLC connector (see illustration Wiring diagram of the STAR DIAGNOSIS (0100) reader to the DLC diagnostic connector (X11/4)), - contact a Mercedes-Benz service station. Also clear the processor memory of the on-board diagnostic system.
