Warning! Jacking up and jacking up a vehicle may present a risk of injury. Read the safety precautions in Chapter "Jacking up a car".
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on jack stands.
2. Unscrew the flange bolts between the catalytic converter 1 and the inlet pipe 2 (see illustration).

Attention! Depending on the engine type, the flange connection may be threaded or clamped. If the connection is threaded, check the condition of the blind nuts 3 and, if necessary, replace them with new ones, knocking them out with a suitable punch and holding the clamp. Install new blind nuts, tightening them to the stop with a suitable flange bolt (see illustration 5.2).
3. Remove the rubber cushions 1 and 2 of the main muffler 3 and exhaust pipe suspension and lower the rear part of the exhaust system (see illustration).

4. Check the condition of the rubber suspension cushions. Replace porous and damaged cushions with new ones.
Installation
5. Replace the flange joint gasket and self-locking nuts with new ones.
6. Raise the exhaust pipe and secure it in the rubber suspension mounts.
7. Screw the inlet pipe to the catalytic converter, installing a new gasket. For a threaded connection, the tightening torque is 25 Nm.
8. Lower the car onto its wheels.
