Removing
1. Wet the rear window with water.
2. Turn on the wiper and let it run for a short time. Turn off the purifier. The cleaner brush should return to its original position.
3. Mark the position of the wiper brush on the rear window using, for example, adhesive tape. It is understood that the position of the wiper lever is adjusted correctly and the marked marks will be the standard.
4. Remove the protective cap 1 and unscrew the nut 2 (see illustration).
5. Remove the brush holder 3 from the shaft (see illustration 22.4).
Installation
6. Make sure the wiper motor is in the home position. To do this, switch on the ignition, then briefly switch on the wiper motor and switch it off using the steering column switch.
7. Install the wiper arm on the shaft, using the marks made with adhesive tape before removing the wiper.
8. Screw on the nut 2 securing the lever (see illustration 22.4).
9. Check again the original position of the lever. To do this, moisten the rear window with water and turn on the cleaner for a short time. The lever should return to its original position, and the brush should not go beyond the edge of the glass.
If necessary, remove the lever again by unscrewing the fastening nut and repeat the adjustment.
10. Tighten nut 2 securing the lever on the shaft with a force of 15 Nm (see illustration 22.4).
