Outside Air Temperature Sensor — Removal and Installation (Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168)

The outside air temperature sensor is located under the front bumper on the right side.

Removal



1. Disconnect the ground (-) wire terminal from the negative battery terminal, after turning off the ignition.

Warning! When you disconnect the battery from the radio, the security code is deleted, as well as all automatic settings on the radio station. If the code is unknown or not written down, then the radio can only be put into operation by resorting to the help of a workshop or the manufacturer of the radio. Therefore, make sure in advance that the code is known.


2. Remove the plug from the right side of the front bumper (see illustration).

3. Disconnect the plug from the sensor (see arrow in illustration).

4. Carefully bend the clamp on the sensor seat with a screwdriver, release the sensor and remove it (see arrow in illustration 34.3).



Installation



5. Install the sensor on the mounting location and connect the plug.

6. Close the hole on the front bumper with a plug.
