2 - Mounting bolts
S16/2 — Reverse light switch sensor




1. Installation details of the manual transmission shift lever 717.461 (models ML 230) are shown in the illustrations, to which all references found in the text refer.

2. Shift into neutral.

3. Disconnect the intermediate shift levers (1-2, 3-4, 5-R).

4. Remove the shift lever base cover.

5. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the reversing light switch sensor (S16/2).

6. Release the parking brake cable from the clips and move it to the side.

7. Loosen the bolts (2) and remove the support bracket.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, adjust the drive (see Section Troubleshooting - General Information).
