Details of installation of fuel line connecting fuel filter to distribution line on models 163,154,157/172/174/175 (engines of series 112 and 113, except 113.981)


1. Details of the installation of the fuel line connecting the fuel filter to the distribution line on models 163, 154, 157/172/174/175 (engines of series 112 and 113, except 113.981) are shown in the illustration, to which all references found in the text refer.

2. Drive the car onto the lift.

3. Open the hood and fix it in a vertical position.

4. Remove the powertrain trim panels.

5. Release the pressure in the fuel system through the service valve (see Section Relieving pressure in the fuel system of a gasoline engine).

6. Disconnect the fuel supply line (1), drain the remaining fuel into a prepared container, immediately seal the open ends of the lines.

7. Remove both left wheels and wheel arch protectors.

8. Remove the left underbody anti-gravel protection deflectors.

9. Remove the screws securing the body to the frame and lift the left edge of the body assembly.

10. Disconnect the fuel line (2) from the fuel filter assembly (3), - immediately plug the open end of the line.



11. Release the fuel line (2) from the intermediate fasteners (4) on the frame and, pulling it back, remove it from the vehicle.

12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, check the fuel system for signs of developing leaks.
