Note: All self-locking bolts and nuts must be replaced!


Attention! Torsion bar strut repair kits are only available for models produced since 01.08.98 - if components of earlier versions fail, the strut assemblies should be completely replaced with more modern ones!


1. The details of the torsion bar installation are shown in the illustration, to which all references in the text refer.

2. Remove the crankcase guard.

3. Remove the sound insulation.

4. Remove the clamps (22b) from the lower suspension arms (4) and rubber bushings (22a).

5. Release the lower bracket (21b) of the strut mount and remove the torsion bar (10).

6. Remove the rubber bushings (22a and 21a) from the rod, having first marked their installation positions.

7. On models produced from 01.08.98, remove the washers (21i).

8. Remove the retaining clamps (21k).

9. If necessary, loosen the fastening nut, remove the axle bolt and remove the torsion bar strut (21e).

10. Press the bushing (21h) out of the rack.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - make sure that the rubber bushings are positioned correctly, and center the rod before tightening the fasteners.
