Front suspension torsion bar installation details
A - Release models up to 07/31/98
B - Release models from 08/01/98
Note. All self-locking bolts and nuts must be replaced without fail!
Attention! Repair kits for torsion bar struts are available only for production models from 08/01/98 - in case of failure of components of earlier versions, it is necessary to completely replace the strut assemblies with more modern ones!
1. Details of the installation of the torsion bar are shown in the illustration, to which all references in the text refer.
2. Remove the crankcase protection.
3. Remove soundproofing.
4. Remove clamps (22b) from lower wishbones (4) and rubber bushings (22a).
5. Release the bottom bracket (21b) mount the rack and remove the torsion bar (10).
6. Remove the rubber bushings from the stem (22a and 21a), having previously marked their installation positions.
7. On release models from 08/01/98, remove the washers (21i).
8. Remove the fixing straps (21k).
9. If necessary, loosen the fixing nut, remove the axle bolt and remove the torsion bar strut (21st).
10. Press the sleeve out of the rack (21h).
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order - make sure that the rubber bushings are correctly positioned, center the bar before tightening the fasteners.
