Charge the battery.
The fastening of the wire terminals on the battery is loose or the terminals are rusted
Check the wires, clean the terminals and tighten the bolt.
Loose fastening of the wire terminal on the generator or the terminals are rusted
Check the wires, clean the terminals and tighten the nuts.
Battery charging warning light burned out
Replace light bulb.
Faulty voltage regulator
Check voltage regulator. Replace if necessary.
Open circuit between alternator, ignition switch and warning light
Check the circuit with an ohmmeter. If necessary, repair the circuit or replace the wire.
The carbon brushes do not touch the slip ring
Check the ease of movement of the brushes in the holder, as well as the elasticity and clamping force of the brush springs.
The battery charge warning light does not go out when the engine speed increases
The ribbed belt is loose or slipping
Check the condition of the ribbed belt and tensioner. Replace the belt if necessary.
Wear of the carbon brushes of the voltage regulator
Examine the carbon brushes. Replace if necessary.
Poor contact between alternator and voltage regulator
Check wires and contacts. Replace wiring harness if necessary.
