Removal



1. Remove the cover from the center console, see the relevant chapter.

2. Remove the lower instrument panel trim in the driver's side footwell, see the relevant chapter.

3. Remove the glove box, see the relevant chapter.

4. Remove the front pillar trim, see the relevant chapter.

5. Remove the instrument panel, see the relevant chapter.

6. Unscrew bolt 1 (see illustration).

Please note! In the illustration the instrument panel has not yet been removed.


7. Unscrew the mounting bolts 3, which secure the front part of the center console (see illustration).

8. Unscrew one bolt from the right and left sides of the center console 4 (see illustration).

Caution: The illustration shows the location of the mounting bolts on the installed instrument panel.

9. Unscrew bolt 5 on the right side of the instrument panel behind the glove compartment (see illustration 19.8).

10. Lift the instrument panel 6 and disconnect the multi-contact connector 7 of the hazard warning light switch (see illustration 19.8).

The installation of the instrument panel is performed in the following sequence:; reverse removal.
