Removal



1. Open the tailgate and secure it to prevent it from falling.

2. Pry up the locking bracket 1 of the stop with a small screwdriver 2 and remove the gas-filled stop 3 from the upper ball joint 4 on the door 5 (see illustration).

Caution! Do not remove the locking bracket, as this will damage it and will not provide the required pressure.

Attention! When installing a new gas-filled strut, drain the oil from the old one before disposal. To do this, clamp the strut in a vice and, stepping back approximately 20 mm from its bottom, make a corresponding mark. Then drill a hole at the mark with a 3 mm drill. Remove the strut from the vice and pull out and press its piston several times to squeeze out the oil that should be collected.


Installation



3. Secure the lower and upper supports of the stop to the ball joints with locking brackets.
