The interior rear-view mirror may have a rain sensor and/or automatic switching to prevent blinding from headlights of moving vehicles behind.
Removal
The support plate of the interior rearview mirror mount is glued to the windshield. The mirror holder is placed on the support plate from top to bottom along the surface of the windshield.
Workshops use special pliers to release the fasteners to remove the mirror.
1. Insert the special pliers from below into the slot on the support plate as deep as possible.
2. Squeeze the pliers enough to release the lock. At the same time, move the mirror holder up on the plate and remove it from it.
If you don't have special pliers, use curved needle-nose pliers, which, like the special pliers, fit into the slot on the support plate.
3. Press the lock 1 upwards, towards the mirror holder, i.e. from the windshield into the passenger compartment (see illustration). As soon as both projections 3 on the retainer have moved downwards relative to the surface of the support plate, the mirror holder 2 can be removed by moving it upwards along the surface of the windshield.

Installation
4. Place the mirror holder on top of the base plate and push it onto the plate until it locks into place.
